She stands ready to fire, but sees nothing at the door. She lowers her bow and blinks. "Well, there was an undead creature there just a moment ago..." She can still smell the pungent stench of undeath. She shakes her head and looks back at the door, surely the creature would return...but she'd rather it not.

Despite not really wanting to meet the creature Onara couldn't help but show some dissapointment. She held a hand to her chest and breathed heavily. "I hate it when I work myself up and get let down. Where is that stupid thing?"

I move up to the door and peer into the room/hall beyond the door. When I see nothing right away I move forward so I can see the floor and the rest of the place. Okay you guys can you make sure I don't get caught by suprise? As I'm almost all the way in I start looking for some kind of track or something that says our friends were and here which way they went.

You see tracks leading on into the darkness, very strange ones at that. In the thick dust, you're able to read them instantly. It appears that a giant 7' tall woman dragged someone and was pursued by several others.

The conclusion is clear. One of your friends is in trouble! You better hurry if you want to help them, strange noises be damned.

"Damnit," Aryion curses at the sight of the tracks. Silent, as usual, he again chooses to let his actions speak for themselves, and begins walking quickly and purposefully in the direction of the tracks, keeping his eyes ahead of him and alert. Choosing to sling his bow, and pull his sword, he feels a bit of comfort from the cold steel in his hands, and hefts it appreciatively, smiling a bit...

She takes one last quick looks around the forest, takes a deep breath and quickly rushes to catch up with Aryion, her arrow still notched, ready to fire at what ever made these large tracks.

You are now in a pitch dark maze of sorts, with rough-hewn corridors going off in three directions, north, east, and west. The entry parlor you just came from lies to the south.

Looking down you discover the reason for the ease of entry. Apparently your friends used only a single dagger to bar the door. They must've not had an iron spikes and been in a great hurry.

According to the tracks, the woman went down the north corridor. The maze is alive with faint rustling sounds in all directions!

You quickly light a torch and move on. The flickering torch-light barely cuts into the heavy gloom, but at least you can see.

Passing one corridor on your right, the tracks lead you to one on the left, disappearing into it. When you arrive, you find that it's a stone chute of some kind leading down into who knows where!

The tracks clearly indicate that your friends jumped down this chute in a hurry. Faint sounds of battle echo up to you. Do you jump in???

I step to the front of the group and look at the chute. I then crouch next to it and prepair to go down using my feet and hands to slow my decent. I'll go first friends. I'll let you know when to come. Or if necessary just jump in but yell in warning please. I drop into the chute going down in a controled slide and just before I reach the bottom I stop and make sure that nothings there. Once I know if anythings there or not I call back up to the rest to come on down. Then I drop to the ground and fade into the shadows to keep an eye out for enemies.

Nodding at Hideko's words, Aryion waits a second until he disappears from sight, and then immediately jumps down after him, figuring that if he hears sounds of battle, there can't be anything too bad waiting for him, as his friends had survived the slide. Flying quickly downward, he slams into Hideko, having not thought to control his slide, and falls down into whatever lies below...

She look at the hole and swallows hard. Who knew what those sounds were, even more, was there a way back up. There had to be....right? She took a deep breath and slid into the chute feet first, not knowing what was at the bottom, she tightly held her bow against her chest as if to give her some comfort.

"So...ummm...why would someone build something like this?" Onara asks in an uncomfortable attempt to make conversation. "A person chute?"

Yes, the purpose of the chute is, for now, a mystery, as is whether or not there is a way back out again! Relina, your head is filled with visions of dark horrors in inescapable rooms deep in the roots of the mountain.

Hideko, you find that the chute is so craftily constructed that there is no possible way to slow your descent.

(Continued in the Goldfoot Machine PART 2 thread.)

Onara and Haldrus, you now find yourselves alone in the creepy passages!

"I am now the Queen of Stupidville," Onara says as she grips her bow and closes her eyes tightly before sitting on the edge and then gently pushing herself into the hole.

"Just what is that supposed to mean?" Haldrus shot back at her obviously hurt. He hefted the axe around taking another panoramic look to make sure there wasn't anything following behind them and when he noticed Onara had gone sliding down the people chute he followed after the rest of the party.
